This is not me being a movie critic, these are just some movies I saw and felt like writing a post on Tumblr for some reason other than just posting a status on Facebook of me watching that movie; making me feel I’ve done something useful or entertaining (for me).
Haven’t hand-picked and downloaded any movies in a while so last week I decided to see something not necessarily enlightening but just leaves something behind in my mind, even if it’s a little something.
Started looking up some Indie/foreign films that u don’t get to see at the cinema and not romantic or “OMG aliens coming to destroy our planet RUN! HIDE! MIRACULOUSLY VANQUISH ALIENS! Or befriend them”.
Here’s what I’ve seen so far
1. A Hijacking Danish.2012
I don’t think it left that mark in me that I wanted, I continued the movie till the end and there were moments that I really wanted to know what will happen but I also don’t think I would go and tell someone download this movie, unless you saw the trailer and liked it.
I would say it’s nice and I don’t regret watching it or something like that.
2. Le Chef French.2012
I fell in love with Jean Reno after his role in Leon. It was funny and light to watch without being trivial.
Then I felt in the mood for a black comedy so I kept googling, going back and forth between a couple of options, then
3. Oh Boy/ A Coffee in Berlin German.2013
A guy surrounded by a boring life and trying to figure who he is… I wouldn’t have missed that. From how I see it also he is surrounded by possibilities because come on he’s living in Berlin and I would’ve swapped places with him but also “So what?” because yes someone might want to swap with you because he sees possibilities but because your vision is narrowed to a certain life you’re seeking that you’re also blocking those other possibilities and that it all just becomes DULL waiting for that thing that might not ever happen unless you go with the unusual or take a “wrong” turn.
I still was in the mood for more black comedy and a sarcastic view on life
4. A Serious Man American.2009
I liked this one, there were those moments that you’d just go in a sarcastic Ha! and other moments I would be like Oh go if this was a real reaction and people would be so sarcastically honest like that.
It was a good one, so if you’re in the mood for something sarcastic then see it.
Next on my list, I’ve these two waiting on my hard drive
L’Auberge Espagnole French.2002
I needed something about traveling so I’m hoping it’s good, it’s about this French guy who stays in Spain for a year as far as I remember.
Den Brysomme Mannen (The Bothersome Man) Norwegian.2006
I saw some screenshots that looked good so I thought okay, why not. I haven’t seen or even know what it’s about.
I have many movie titles waiting in a note on my laptop but I’m also open for suggestions from your side.
